Classical Chinese Medicine Skills
About CCM Skills
What we teach comes directly from Andrew Nugent-Head and what he learnt from living in China for twenty eight years with his three main teachers under the traditional mentor-disciple relationships.
Andrew traveled to Taiwan and then to China, where he settled and learnt martial arts, internal cultivation and medicine. In 2014 he returned to Asheville, USA with his wife (JulieAnn) and family to establish the Alternative Clinic and Asia House learning centre.
Andrew's main teachers were Professor Wang Jin-Huai, a Scholar, Calligrapher and healer,
Dr Xie Peiqi, a Martial Artist and Doctor and lastly Professor Li Hongxiang, a Herbalist.

About Me
I am a full time practitioner and lecturer living and working in Bedfordshire, UK. I started my studies in 1998, studying Acupuncture in London. I immediately wanted to learn about the different approaches to the medicine, so I spent two years studying Japanese Acupuncture at the same time as learning Chinese Acupuncture in college. During this time I gained a real appreciation for the efficacy of different styles and ways of thinking about the medicine.
I continued to look for ways to improve my results in clinic and came across the term "Classical Chinese Medicine", meaning that what was being practised, was a pre modernisation style, dating to maybe over two thousand years ago at the writing of the Huang Di New Jing, or to something more recent in time, to the early or mid 1900's.
I was lucky enough to study with the few people teaching Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) in the UK and after learning as much as I could from other teachers, in 2012 I started studying with Andrew Nugent-Head. The style of Classical Chinese Medicine he teaches is very hands-on and practical, yielding immediately tangible results which bring about very real changes. I have continued to study with Andrew and his wife JuileAnn in Europe and the United States which has led to me being one of only a few people in the only UK to be able to teach this style.
